Screamprint Artworks, Screamprint Design or just Screamprint are some the various names used to promote and sell my work online. I'm David Hopkins, a graphic designer and artist with nearly 50 years of experience working for design groups, advertising agencies and, ultimately, running (and then selling) my own design and marketing agency.
Here's a little bit about my background and what it is that makes me think that you might be interested in what I do now. I've seen a bit, done a bit and, over the years, created a few things that have been awarded prizes, sold, exhibited internationally, and generally been considered good enough to show other people without them, hopefully, laughing out loud.
Starting out
We all have to start out somewhere and my somewhere, from a creative point of view, was Cardiff Art College. I knew I liked creating things but I didn't really know what I could do with it. Here, I improved my sketching, drawing, printing, photography and the use of all of those within the world of art and design. I was also given a good idea of what I could do with it all.

Here's me in the early 1970s during my time in art college, with the obligatory unkempt hair and a camera constantly around my neck
Loads of work
I guess you have to take the opportunities when they come along. Without too much thought of how it would all work out, I've been a senior designer in design groups and advertising agencies, both in the UK and in Australia. I've established a few successful businesses, all within the creative industries, and always hoped that I was doing the best job I could.

Here's me after a few decades of running a design business, amongst other things, having tried to deal with thousands of usually urgent requests
Finishing off
After years of doing stuff for everybody else, I sold my last marketing and design business and decided to do stuff that was enjoyable to produce. And if other people like it too, then that's a bit of a bonus. The graphic design work that I prefer has always been direct, straight to the point and with loads of impact. I'm hoping that what I'm offering here reflects that and is of interest.

Here's me now, having packed it all in and now creating things that I think I enjoy doing and, hopefully, somebody somewhere can relate to as well
Now that we're all introduced, I'll tell you a little bit about what's here.
There are art prints in a number of different styles, formats and concepts, printed either digitally or via giclée printing on specialist papers, mainly featuring well known landmarks. There is the Small Pieces Collection, mini-prints of special places, and a growing collection of larger prints with colour and impact, as well as some screen printed limited editions.
As well as art prints, there are photographic images from over fifty years of seeing and recording things. Some of the earlier images, mainly from the 1970s and 80s, are produced from the original black and white negatives, and the colour images are printed from digital files. All photographs are available in a range of sizes printed on high quality gloss paper.
There's a growing collection of posters and graphic prints with themes and designs that may be a little bit off the wall - even if they eventually end up on the wall. You'll also find other things I've designed along the way, such as cards, coasters and even some stuff that's nothing more than a bit of fun. Most of this fun stuff is meant to be mindlessly entertaining, but could make a really good gift for somebody or other.
Now, I'm not pretending that any of this work is going to change the world, but you may find something here that is a bit different and a change from the ordinary.
Thanks for visiting. If you like what you see, please pass me on.
