These canoes, all apparently called Serge, appear to be slithering down to the water, rather like a colony of seals with bright suits on going off for a swim together. The diagonal line produced by the bows of the canoes and the edge of the water adds to the sense of movement in this image taken on a beach in Manly, Sydney.
Photographs from the Today series are produced from digital originals taken in the last fifteen years or so by graphic designer and artist, David Hopkins. This image is also available in black and white in the Shop.
