A doorway needs to be safe, secure and, depending on its situation, appealing to walk through. This doorway is appealing for number of other reasons.
 
It’s very difficult to work out what is actually going on here, or even what has happened to get to this point. It can’t be a botched job because some elements seem quite deliberate. Given the simple title of Doorway, Amsterdam, this image seems to suggest the exact opposite of what a doorway should be.
 
Photographs from the Yesterday series are produced to order from the original 35mm black and white negatives. Every print is a high-quality black and white giclée photoprint on 265gsm gloss paper and is supplied with a card window mount.
