This artwork is from a growing series of vibrant images depicting modified, more extreme versions of the real thing. Entitled Colorsseum, the work represents a different view of the world-famous iconic structure, the Colosseum in Rome, experimenting with some of the features that originally made this impressive structure into what we now call an attraction.

Derived from original photographs taken by the artist to retain their basic reality, the images are reworked and break the subject down into individual elements. These are elaborately coloured using a simple but consistent primary palette, held together by a strong, dominant black, to completely change the way the subject is perceived. Does it make it more of an attraction, and how does this affect our understanding of what makes a renowned attraction attractive anyway?

This is a signed full colour giclée print on 310gsm high quality fine art paper and is supplied with a card window mount to fit a 16" x 16" square frame.

The print is also available in a black, glazed wood frame.
