This artwork is from a growing series of vibrant images depicting modified, more extreme versions of the real thing. Representing a different view of the well-known Old Bridge over the river Taff in Pontypridd, the work experiments with some of the features that originally made this landmark into what we now call an attraction.
 
Derived from original photographs taken by the artist to retain their basic reality, the images are reworked, breaking the subject down into individual elements. These are elaborately coloured using a simple but consistent primary palette, held together by a strong, dominant black, to change the way in which the subject is perceived. Does it make it more of an attraction, and how does this affect our understanding of what makes a renowned attraction attractive anyway?
 
This is a signed full colour giclée print on 310gsm high quality fine art paper and is supplied with a card window mount to fit a 16" x 16" square frame.
 
The print is also available in a black, glazed wood frame.
